At the core of MC2 Therapeutics’ innovation is proprietary PAD technology™, a breakthrough platform that unlocks an otherwise inaccessible formulation space —enabling MC2 to develop dermatology products in which efficacy, deep deposition, stability, tolerability, and elegant user experience can be optimised together.

PAD technology™ is a proprietary oil-in-water polyaphron dispersion system in which each oil droplet is protected by a robust multi-molecular layer. The result is an innovative approach to topical dermatology—one that resolves traditional trade-offs between product performance, formulation robustness, and user preference, while remaining designed for reliable manufacture at commercial scale.

1: Proven skin deposition and residency

Effective and deep deposition of relevant formulation components into the skin and sustained residency where it matters.

2: Non-greasy high-oil-load hydration cream with proven patient preference

Enables effective barrier-supporting hydration in an elegant, non-greasy cream designed for user preference and repeat use. A unique property of PAD technology™ is that it allows for formulations with a near-zero emulsifier level which is beneficial for sensitive skin and also improves hydration as it limits emulsifier induced wash-off of the skin’s natural lipids.

3: Superior physical and chemical stability

The robust PAD technology™ droplet architecture supports  physically stable formulations while helping protect ingredients that may otherwise be prone to degradation. This formulation-robustness translates into reliable supply, strong shelf life, and competitive cost of goods at commercial scale—turning scientific differentiation into a commercially practical product.

4: Co-formulation of incompatible active ingredients

Creates opportunities to stabilise or combine active ingredients that may otherwise be difficult to formulate together in a patient-friendly topical product.
